Our Story
Jai Anthony Jon Miechel was born on 18 March 1994. At just 16, he was diagnosed with a rare form of testicular cancer called rhabdomyosarcoma. After extensive chemotherapy, Jai went into remission - only for the cancer to return when he was 21. He fought it, and won, a second time. Jai came out of that fight healthier than ever, and found a new passion: wall and rock climbing. His goal was to conquer the largest and hardest wall in pulse climbing, and on 9 October 2017, he reached it. At the top of that achievement, Jai suffered a bleed on the brain - an aneurysm. He was rushed to hospital and underwent a craniotomy to relieve the pressure, but on 11 October, surrounded by family and friends, he lost his fight. In his honour, Jai's family created a boutique chilli bourbon sauce - a tribute to two of his favourite things. Every one of his mates carries a bottle, and his mum still makes and sells it today, now also turned into a marinade. It's the story behind everything we make.
